Middle School Math/Science Teacher

Sterling Montessori Academy and Charter School in Morrisville, NC. is seeking a Middle School Math and Science teacher.

  • Commitment to the mission, philosophy, and guiding principles of Sterling Montessori.
  • Curriculum planning and development- Understand North Carolina state’s requirements for math and science learning standards (Common Core) in the middle grades (7th/8th) and create and implement a Math/Science curriculum in accordance with the state’s requirements and the school’s principles and philosophy.
  • A passion for and dedication to implementing Montessori best practices at the secondary level.
  • Utilize and improve the implementation of school-wide Positive Discipline practices.
  • Understand and be able to implement current researched “best practices” for middle grades education, including differentiation of instruction, support methods for students with special learning needs, and strategies for gifted or advanced students.
  • Excellent skills in organization, classroom management, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, colleagues, and administration to develop and ensure a healthy, safe, and inclusive environment in which all community members are free to learn and work.

Physical Therapist

Sterling Montessori is seeking to contract with a part time physical therapist who has experience working with students in K-8th grade. The position will begin August 2021.

Professional Skills/Responsibilities:

  • Understands the development of children K-8th grade and how it applies in the classroom.
  • Implements Positive Discipline techniques
  • Collaborate with the general education teachers and the EC team for push in and pull out services
  • Develops strong partnerships with students, colleagues and administration.
  • Implement engaging instruction, based on the IEP goals and objectives of each student
  • Prepares documents and reports necessary to facilitate parent teacher conferences, IEP meetings, or other meetings requested by parents or school administration.    
  • Has strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Is skilled in using email, Microsoft Word, Google Drive when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited University (required)
  • Valid North Carolina Physical Therapy License

Director of Lower Elementary

Sterling Montessori School is currently seeking a full-time Administrative position as Director of Lower Elementary. We are seeking a committed individual who has a passion for the Montessori philosophy and excellence in communicating it to teachers, parents and the community. The Director will oversee the Lower Elementary staff, the curriculum, parent education, as well as serve as an active member of the administration team. Sterling Montessori promotes a culturally diverse, purposeful, and peaceful environment for students to learn.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (required)
  • MACTE accredited Montessori Certification in Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary (required)
  • At least 2-3 years of administrative experience in training and supervising teachers to create a conducive Montessori learning environment for the students (required)
  • At least 5 years of experience working as a teacher in a lower elementary classroom (required)
  • State License (or willing to pursue NC licensure)

Part-Time Aftercare Teacher

Sterling Montessori is seeking a qualified Aftercare Teacher who has experience working with students ages 3 to 6 years old. Ideal candidates have Montessori experience, or desire to learn the Montessori Method. Candidates will work 3:00-6:00 pm under the guidance of the Aftercare Supervisor.

This person should possess the following qualities:

  • A love and passion for working with children
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships with the staff and parents at Sterling Montessori.
  • Punctual and dependable in attendance
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills

Substitute Teachers

Sterling Montessori Academy and Charter School is always interested in adding substitute teachers to our on-call list. We use this list to provide coverage in our classrooms (Children’s House – Middle School) when a teacher is out.
